Le sue parole dopo i primi minuti giocati con i ‘Citizens’ davanti a circa 100mila persone nella gara tra Manchestter City e Real Madrid.

Era sicuro dice Roberts che giocare davanti a questo pubblico lo avrebbe convinto del suo trasferimento dal Fulham: "I've always wanted to play for a big club and City's huge worldwide. Anche se dice che non è facile lasciare una citta come Londra: "It wasn't the easiest because I live in London and it means coming to Manchester but when you think about the club and the Premier League it gets easier after a while".

Il 18enne ha comunque impressionato e sa di avere l’appoggio dei big. E’ contento di giocare con personaggi che per lui sono un modello: “The likes of Yaya Toure, Nasri. David Silva is my favourite player in the Premier League so it will be a dream really". Il suo obiettivo è giocare con la prima squadra nell’Etihad Stadium e non uscirne più: "To play for the club, that's the No.1 target you've got to maintain. Play at the Etihad and then continue to play, that would be the next step. Carry on playing and playing and playing".

Intanto il club di Manuel Pellegrini si sta muovendo sul mercato e si parla di un interessamento dei Citizens per il belga Kevin de Bruyne. Il centrocampista è al momento nel Regno Unito con il Wolfsburg per l’Emirates Cup. Il suo agente Patrick De Koster ha dichiarato di essere al seguito del suo assistito per parlare con il ds Txiki Begiristain. E si attendono notizie in merito.
